Description

Nestor means ‘the noblest and wisest’. Authentic materials meet careful attention to comfort, culminating in a great design. Nestor chairs please the eye and are shaped to fit the human body. Designed for Mater by Danish architect Tom Stepp.

The backrest is bent at an angle that provides a surprisingly comfortable sitting position. The woven paper cord references classic Shaker furniture and provides a resilient, durable seat. The armchair model features an elegantly curved, ergonomic armrest.

The Nestor chair is made from FSC® certified wood, like all Mater's wood pieces. The handwoven paper cord is also sustainably sourced and biodegradable. Available as side chairs and armchairs, in four color combinations.

All finishes are water-based and low-VOC, safer alternatives to standard oil-based finishes. The result is cleaner air quality in your space, and better for the environment.

FSC® certified beech or oak wood frame, sustainably sourced and biodegradable paper cord seat.

Finishes: Black, Sirka gray, or Natural matte lacquer

WHO MADE THIS?

Mater

Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2006, Mater was created to be a pioneering global brand with sustainability embedded in its core. From the very beginning, the company mission was to inspire and engage people in sustainable thinking. Mater combines sustainability and circular production using waste, with timeless design. Collaborations are realized with both well-established and new design talents. Designed for both commercial and residential use, Mater strives to avoid and minimize any adverse impact on the environment or society, by following ethical and sustainable production criteria and creating products that will both stand the test of time and inspire the consumer to cherish them. After years of research on more sustainable ways to create furniture, lighting, and objects, Mater now works with a range of production partners who share their ambition for change to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Together, they are committed to discovering new and better ways of making beautiful design - in a responsible way.
